Setting a budget.

As with anythng cars can have too much spent on them, if you are buying a car it is a good idea to take your your time to set a budget. You need to know how much you can comfortably afford and if you need to take out a loan you will still need to decide on how much you can go upto.

If you have a budget set in your mind you have a good starting point when barganing. Don't tell your dealer your budget untill you really have to. You may well find a car well below budget but if you tell them your budget they will try to talk you up to spending it all.

You may find a car below budget that needs a bit of money spending on it to get it how you want it. You should get a price on what any work or extras will cost so that you can work out if you can still stay in your budget.

If you do not set yourself a budget and stick to it then you will probably find yourself stratching yourself too much and if you have had problem getting credit this is not a good idea.
